Maier, PhD The workshop presents challenges and opportunities of an LGBTQ clinic in a doctoral CFT program to which transgender clients are referred by physicians for psychosocial assessments. The CFT clinic’s reports help physicians decide whether they will proceed with hormone replacement therapy or sex reassignment surgery. Based on digital recordings the tensions between gatekeeper functions and advocacy will be discussed.
