This virtual presentation showcases an insider perspective of the realities of intercultural couples in therapy, including difficulties they face in society intercultural couples. The session will focus on engaging self-of-the-therapist as one avenue to understanding: 1) why intercultural might be dropping out of therapy, and 2) how therapists can better engage with each partner and improve retention and therapy outcomes. The primary purpose of this presentation is to increase couple therapists' competence to work successfully with intercultural couples in the Midwest.
